Ray Hendershot is an American artist born in 1931, and has been producing artwork for most of his life. However, for the better half of his life his artwork was not the primary focus of his professional life. His primary career for many years was in the ceramics industry, where he held a variety of positions, ranging from engineering manager of new product development to a principal scientist for American Olean Tile Company. This successful career enabled Ray Hendershot to work on his art and painting techniques in his spare time. He was able to build a significant reputation by participating in local art exhibitions and fairs.

It was not until Ray Hendershot retired from his successful career in 1991 that he was able to establish his artwork as the primary focus of his life. Ray Hendershot began to gain international notoriety for his paintings through numerous exhibitions and competitions. In twenty years time Ray has achieved many accomplishments and accolades, including signature memberships and inductions into numerous artistic organizations.
