Ogawa Kazumasa Prints

Kazumasa Ogawa (1860-1929) was a pioneer of Japanese photography and printmaking. He is known for his color albumen prints and photomechanical printing techniques. During the Meiji period, Japanese culture produced works documenting flowers and traditional scenes. In particular, his hand-colored photographs and floral illustrations played an important role in introducing Japanese aesthetics to the Western world.
